Curious about a Brazilian Wax? Heres our most frequently asked questions and answers

A Brazilian wax is the removal of all of the hair in the pubic region. Including the labia and between the cheeks.

Let it grow. Most people who have been use to shaving shaving down there for most of their life, are uncomfortable with the concept of having to grow it out. The ideal length for waxing pubic hair is at least quarter-inch. Once you get past the first few sessions and get yourself on schedule, it becomes much easier to do since the hair will begin to grow in much softer and finer.

A pain reliever such as ibuprofen may be taken before to take the edge off.

Please make sure you are clean before arriving to your appointment.

After filling out a consultation form, the esthetician may ask you a few more general questions and guide you back into the treatment room. You will then be shown where you can place your belongings in the treatment room and given a fresh towel. You will then be instructed to get completely undressed from the waist down, hop up onto the waxing bed and drape yourself with the towel. Once you are ready, inform the esthetician, and the Brazilian Waxing service will begin.

First, you will be asked to get into the “butterfly” position for better access to the hair. Then the area is cleansed by the esthetician to ensure there is no bacteria in the area before waxing. A powder may be applied to help prevent the skin from becoming too moist or sweaty during the treatment. Next, the wax is applied to the pubic area going with the direction of hair growth, allowed to dry, then quickly removed in the opposite direction. The step is repeated until there is no more pubic hair on the front side. You will then be asked to get into another position for better access to remove the hair between the cheeks. Once you are completely hair free, the area is cleansed once more and your Brazilian Wax is complete!

Slight redness and tenderness are normal for the next 24-hours. Make sure to keep the area clean for the rest of the day since your follicles will be open and more susceptible to bacteria. Avoid sexual activities or anything to cause sweating for the next 24-hours. It’s important to schedule your wax at least 1-2 days before any event you may be waxing for. You can now enjoy being hair free for weeks! You will want to schedule your next Brazilian Wax within 4-6 weeks for up keep. The first few sessions are going to be the toughest, but if you stick with it, after your 3rd regular wax, it gets much easier! If you get off your schedule or shave in between waxing appointments, it will be like the first time all over again. It’s important to stick to your schedule for the best results!

Yes, just please wear a tampon and be aware you may be a little bit more sensitive.

Wax Regularly!

If someone is new to waxing, or has gotten off their waxing schedule, it may be necessary to trim the pubic hair using scissors or clippers prior to waxing.

With repeated hair removal, over time the hair becomes weaker, finer and grows more slowly. Meaning easier removal with less pain and longer time in between waxing sessions! Consistency is key! Remember to book your waxing appointments 4-6 weeks apart for the best results. The result is silky smooth skin for WEEKS!
